Maria, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technologist

Maria is originally from Bogota, Colombia. She and her husband moved to Canada in 2009. They initially lived in Ontario and moved to Alberta in 2012.

Her love for animals started at a young age and in high school she graduated with an emphasis in Biology. After graduating high school, she attended University and completed 2 years of the Animal Science program before moving to Canada.

Maria graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Grande Prairie College in 2015. She worked as an RVT in a mixed animal practice for 5 years before moving to Edmonton and joining the team at Currents in late 2020. 

Maria shares her home with her husband, her mom, a female English Bulldog (Panela), her “angel” English Bulldog (Tannabella) and two axolotls (guarasapo and guarasapa). She and her husband love to travel around the world, camping, quadding, fishing and they try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible every year.
